About the Museum The New Hampshire Historical Society serves thousands of children and adults each year through its Museum of New Hampshire History, research library, educational programs, and award-winning publications. The Museum of New Hampshire History, located at 6 Eagle Square in Concord, offers exhibitions on the state's heritage and traditions as well as a variety of programs for children and adults. The museum store features an extensive selection of New Hampshire's books, gifts, and custom products. The museum is fully accessible. Upcoming Exhibitions Mill Town Memories: The Drawings and Watercolors of Marian Cannon Schlesinger June 14, 2008 –February 15, 2009 Through Mill Town Memories, the New Hampshire Historical Society presents artist Marian Cannon Schlesinger’s view of twenty-eight mill towns that grew up on the inland rivers and streams across New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts, as they appeared during the 1970s and 1980s. Fifty-six atmospheric drawings and watercolors arranged alphabetically by community name capture New England mill communities during a period of change, as the textile industry was declining and mills were beginning to disappear from the landscape. The drawings and watercolors in Mill Town Memories are selected from a recent promised gift made to the New Hampshire Historical Society of a collection of 83 works by the artist. Admission $5.50 for adults $4.50 for seniors $3 for children 6-18, with a family maximum of $17 Children under 6 and members of the New Hampshire Historical Society are admitted free Guided and self-guided group tours are available by advance reservation. For adult tours, the fees are $4.50 per person for a guided tour (with a $50.00 minimum charge) and $3.50 per person for a self-guided tour (with a $40.00 minimum charge). Northbound - turn left at the light at the end of the exit ramp; Southbound - turn right at the light at the end of the exit ramp. Stay in the right lane. At North Main Street turn right. Take the next right onto Storrs Street. Pass under a bridge and overhead parking garage; the museum parking lot entrance is on the left just as you begin to emerge from under the overhead parking garage. At the parking lot entrance gate, take a ticket to open the lot gate. After parking, cross Storrs Street to the museum entrance. The museum is a four-story granite building. Parking is free for museum and library visitors. Bring your parking lot ticket to redeem for an exit token at either the museum or library reception desks.
